Agricultural Fleet Manager - Sudan

Our client in Sudan is interested in hiring a Fleet Manager who can work closely with their clients and employee’s drivers to maximize expenditures and deliver the highest possible level of service to their customers.

The successful candidate will streamline routes with drivers to keep costs down, but still deliver the level of service customers are expecting. The Fleet Manager will also be responsible for meeting regularly with drivers, dispatchers and maintenance team members to discuss ways to meet or exceed corporate revenue goals.

The ideal candidate will have a qualification in Automobile / Mechanical / Agriculture engineering with 10 years' relevant experience in a managerial position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Offer guidance to contracted drivers on the best ways to maximize their earnings, while delivering a high level of customer service

  • Ensure that all drivers understand and procure the licenses and permits they need to legally carry loads to customer destinations

  • Collaborate with human resources and marketing to add quality employee drivers and contracted drivers to the fleet

  • Work closely with the maintenance team to find ways to reduce downtime due to repairs or lack of routine maintenance

  • Ensure that all load paperwork associated with each run is accurate and submitted to the proper people

Qualifications

  • Associate Degree in Logistics required (Bachelor’s degree preferred)

Experience required

  • 1+ years’ logistics or general transportation experience

  • 2+ years’ management or supervisory experience

  • Must be able to work weekends, evenings and holidays

  • Strong computer skills required

Salary

  • 5000 Euros per month

Package Includes

  • Single status

  • Transport – 24/ 7

  • 2 flights per annum (1 every 6 months) return to point of origin with leave cycle

Working Hours

  • Normal working hours are from 7 am to 5 pm.

  • During the busy seasons (planting, harvesting) working hours are flexible and depend on requirements for urgent repair and maintenance work. As required workshop staff may have to work in shifts.

Language ability

  • English

  • Arabic would be beneficial

Accommodation

They have very good accommodation for staff, kitchen, and living room with television, Wi-Fi and sofas.

We are looking for someone to start ideally in 2018.
