CA(SA) – Management Accountant – Milnerton, Cape Town

We are inviting Chartered Accountants CA(SA)’s residing in Cape Town to apply for this challenging position with our client based in Milnerton. The ideal candidate will have some commercial experience (2-3 years ideally).

The management accountant (MA) will have responsibility for the full finance function and report to the Financial Manager and Group Financial Manager. The successful candidate will be a hands-on and engaging manager and will manage a finance team to support the following areas: management reporting and budgeting, revenue and receipts, procurement and payments, group treasury, payroll, commercial management and general administration.

Key responsibilities:

  • Management of group financing transactions

  • Management of finance team

  • Monthly and Annual Management Account compilation and review

  • Financial oversight of revenue and receipts, procurement and payments, group treasury, payroll and general accounting functions

  • Monthly VAT calculation, submission, payment and reconciliation

  • Taxation - Provisional, Annual, calculations, submission, payments and reconciliations

  • Processing of monthly journal

  • Maintain FAR

  • Preparation of budgets

  • Monthly debtors reconciliations review and manage

  • Managing deadlines

  • Monthly supplier reconciliations review and manage

  • EFT approvals and release thereof

  • Performance appraisal finance team

  • Payroll - Financial Information

  • Annual audit preparation and facilitation

Skills and experience required:

  • A successful track record in setting priorities; keen analytic, organization and problem solving skills which support and enable sound decision making.

  • Analyse and present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner; clearly communicate monthly and annual financial statements and relevant financial reporting materials,

  • Assist designated divisions / companies category leaders with financial support and guidance.

  • Coordinate the annual budgeting and planning process;

  • Excellent communication and relationship building skills with an ability to prioritize, negotiate, and work with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.

  • Further develop the Company’s Accounts Department, enhancing professional development, compensation and benefits, performance evaluation, training and recruiting.

  • Good managerial skills to lead and coach finance staff

  • Have a keen commercial mind and outlook understanding the total business cycle.

  • Manage the annual audit process and liaise with external auditors

  • Manage the full finance function for designated companies and divisions including, revenue and receipts, procurement and payments, group treasury, payroll, commercial management and general administration;

  • Manage the vat, tax and required statutory returns, submissions and payments.

  • Oversee administrative functions as well as facilities to ensure efficient and consistent operations as the organization scales.

  • Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and dedication to the mission of the Company.

  • Sage / Accpac experience advantageous

  • Technically strong

  • The ability to multi-task and to wear many hats in a fast-paced environment.

  • The ideal candidate has experience of final responsibility for the quality and content of all financial data, reporting and audit coordination for either a division or significant program area.

  • Work closely and transparently with all external partners including third-party vendors and consultants.

Salary:

R50 -60k CTC per month

January 2019

Closing Date:

12 December 2018 – The client would like to finalize applications by mid-December. Considering the start date in January, a candidate with a month’s notice period would have to resign by in December to start in January 2019.
